Crookwell Sits just 30 minutes off the Hume Highway at the top of the Great Dividing Range. The thriving town of Crookwell is Capital of Upper Lachlan shire of villages. Incredibly only one traffic light separates Crookwell from Sydney Harbour Bridge, 2.5 hours away. Canberra is just 1.5 hours.

restaurants, cafes, specialty shops and a quality supermarket. Crookwell Airport (980 mts) is one of the highest in Australia.

Crookwell nestles in tree lined streets surrounded by picturesque green hills. Nearby Pejar dam is a sub alpine lake, stocked with Brown Trout, Rainbow Trout and Australian Bass. Fishing is year round. Electric, unpowered or sailing boats are permitted and there's a boat ramp and bbq area. No camping at the dam so drive in to Crookwell where you will find a modern camping and caravan park on the banks of Crookwell river.

Crookwell enjoys four distinct seasons and the garden festival showcases the spring blossoms. Summers are warm, autumn is about red and golden leaves and winter is for log fires and snowfalls.

Many crystal clear trout streams begin their journey near Crookwell. Even in the heart of town you can picnic in the park and spot a platypus in the Kiama Creek.

Other activities include specialty shopping, visits to alpaca farms, bowling, golf, squash, cricket (played in crisp whites of course), rugby, hockey (we are home to 2 members of the Hockeyroos), showground equestrian events and weekend markets. The Crookwell Visitors Centre is in the main street.
